As the son of an engineer and a teacher, a legal career was not an obvious choice. At the end of the day, though, it was my parents who led me there. Their passion for helping others in their church and community inspired me to find a path where I could do the same. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from Michigan State’s James Madison College, I continued at Michigan State’s College of Law. There I pushed myself to learn all that I could through Law Review and national moot court competitions. During law school I worked as a law clerk for Cooper and Riesterer and never looked back. I loved that Cooper and Riesterer provided the chance to help real people. Whether assisting individuals with personal real estate matters or helping businesses avoid hurdles to achieve success, I knew this firm was somewhere I could truly make a difference.
As a practicing attorney, I am committed to serving others by providing top-notch legal representation with grace and professionalism. As a law clerk at Cooper & Riesterer, I got a jump start on efficiently resolving issues. As a young attorney, I push myself to grow my knowledge of business, real estate and litigation. If I do run into uncharted territory, my colleagues at Cooper & Riesterer are always ready to guide and assist. I know legal issues can be stressful for clients. My participation in several moot court competitions has helped me to remain calm when under fire. My highest priority is to make my clients feel at ease by guiding them through what can be a confusing and intimidating process. I pride myself on truly caring for my clients and working diligently to make sure they know their issues will be well taken care of. That’s why I am here.
I love my life in Michigan and all that it has to offer. I was raised here and plan to raise my family here. I’m a sport’s guy and love both watching and participating. My favorite teams to watch are the Spartans and the Lions. When not watching, I get outside as often as I can. It doesn’t matter if it’s hitting Northern Michigan’s slopes in the winter, golfing, boating, and swimming in the summer, or taking a nature walk any time of the year. There is so much to do and appreciate here in Michigan, Work and serving others is important, but so is family, and finding balance. When I make the time to appreciate and enjoy the many opportunities in my life, I find that I am happy, healthy and energized. And that makes me better able to help others.
