If I decide to do something, I am all in. I didn’t know law was my path, but looking back I see how my choices and focus lead me there. Music and sports were early choices that reinforced the importance of discipline, creativity and passion. Those traits earned me a spot on the Michigan Marching Band where lessons in teamwork, dedication, and being part of something larger than myself were the reward. My passion for collaboration and excellence led me to law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. While there, I had the privilege of serving as a Student Attorney with the Tax Clinic where I assisted clients facing disputes with the Internal Revenue Service. Helping people resolve complex legal challenges was challenging, rewarding, and made me proud. I couldn’t wait to graduate and do more of the same for my own clients.
I came to Cooper & Riesterer with eight years of experience in complex litigation, including, civil RICO and employment matters, and representing business, construction, and real estate clients in contract matters, disputes, and corresponding litigation. I particularly enjoy helping entrepreneurs organize new business entities, turning their visions into reality. Being a creative problem solver allows me to navigate the legal landscape efficiently, whether drafting a contract or tackling a challenging dispute. I welcome complex and high-stakes matters where I can further sharpen my analytical skills and understanding of the intricate dance that is the legal system. Knowing the rules isn’t just about compliance; it’s about mastering the game to advocate effectively for my clients. You can be confident that I will approach every matter with dedication, discipline and creativity.
Growing up in Muskegon, Michigan, I spent my days on the shores of Lake Michigan, the melodies of my saxophone filling the air, and the forests and nature of northern Michigan cementing a place in my life. Whenever I get the chance, I head back to the Northern Michigan beaches to visit friends and family, a place that will always be home. To this day, I remain an avid supporter of Michigan Wolverines athletics. Whether it’s football Saturdays or thrilling basketball matchups, you’ll find me rooting enthusiastically for my alma mater. You might also find me practicing my green-thumb or perfecting my golf swing. Determination can be relentless sometimes. I’ve designed my life with intention, blending a fulfilling career with the activities and people I love. I believe in following one’s passions and building a life that resonates with purpose and joy. I strive to make each moment meaningful and encourage others to do the same, to pursue their dreams wholeheartedly, knowing that the journey is just as important as the destination.
