Overview

Growing up in a small farming community in the Thumb of Michigan, I was eager to embrace new opportunities and embark on my adult life. The desire to explore beyond my hometown fueled my excitement for the experiences that awaited me. A lifelong Spartan, I proudly left for Michigan State University where I earned a degree in Political Science and a minor in Human Behavior and Social Services. Pursuing those degrees, I realized the powerful intersectionality of law and social work. There, I also came to realize how much I had benefited from my small town with its strong sense of community and collaboration. Casual observers might think that I am laid back. The truth is my solid foundation has made me strong. While law was not something I originally envisioned, my love for reading and public speaking and my desire to have a meaningful impact on the lives of others eventually led me to Michigan State University College of Law.
Eager to strengthen my writing, advocacy and public speaking skills, I participated in the Trial Practice Institute during law school. That program not only improved my skills but highlighted my strengths. I am not easily rattled and thrive on advancing the interests of my client whether through litigation or well drafted documentation. I joined Cooper & Riesterer as a law clerk after my second year and was able to apply my academic training to real-world client situations. Each day, I approach matters with care, attention, and a genuine commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes. I am excited to be stepping into the legal community as an attorney with Cooper & Riesterer.
Like many from Michigan, I crave being outdoors with friends and family and have a deep appreciation for our Great Lakes. When I’m not at the office, in the winter you can find me skiing in Northwest Michigan. When the snow melts I will be swimming and either exploring our state or heading out to other states and countries seeking new adventures and experiences. Cooking is another passion of mine. I love experimenting with new recipes and sharing delicious meals with friends and family. Meal sharing builds community, and community supports our foundations. Balancing my professional responsibilities with these out-of-off pursuits allows me to show up every day with energy, focus and strength.
